Overview
‘Bbeong’ is a reimagined brand identity based on ppungtwigi (뻥튀기), a traditional Korean puffed grain snack.
In Korean markets, the loud pop of the machine, the shout of “Bbeong-iyo!”, and the rising steam form a familiar sensory experience deeply rooted in local culture.
This branding project reinterprets ppungtwigi through the lens of neon colours and planetary motifs.
The snack’s uneven, crater-like surface reminded me of the textures of the moon or Mars—leading to the concept of BBeong as a snack from another world.
The result is a visual identity that blends nostalgia with futurism, tradition with play.
